Dana White Reacts To CABMMA Overturning The Dober Vs Silva Result

Thursday, March 26th, 2015

It only took fans a matter of seconds to realize that Referee Eduardo Herdy had made a giant mistake at the UFC Fight Night: Rio card. Herdy stopped the bout between Leandro Silva and Drew Dober when Silva had Dober in a guillotine choke from halfguard. According to Herdy in the octagon, the fight was ruled a submission by tap. The replay clearly shows that Dober didn’t tap and that he was escaping the hold when the ref stepped in.

The UFC took care of Dober financially by paying him his win bonus, and now he has the loss off his record as well. According to CABMMA (the athletic commission in Brazil,) the fight will now be ruled a ‘No Contest.’ This came as a shock to many as CABMMA initially said that they weren't going to overturn the result. They have since instituted a rule that would allow them to reverse a decision on situations like these
