It’s not uncommon for a knee-strike floor a fighter. However, typically such a sequence occurs when the blow connects with the competitor’s jaw rather than his torso. Of course, UFC superstar Anderson Silva has never been anything but unique when it comes to his ability to put opponents away in ways the world has rarely if ever seen before.

This past weekend was no exception, as Silva stopped UFC 153 opponent Stephan Bonnar after launching a knee into the foe’s chest that put “The American Psycho” down and made the ensuing TKO elementary. Bonnar, who had never been finished prior to the pairing, recently took to Twitter to explain what happened where he offered a frightening testament to Silva’s skill.

“Not injured, just caught with a perfect knee to the solar plexus and it paralyzed me. (I) was just getting movement back when fight was stopped,” wrote Bonnar.

Bonnar also took the time to thank fans, apologize for his performance, and ensure the world he would “make it up” at some point down the road.

Highlights from Silva's Win Over Bonnar

Silva’s finish of Bonnar was his fifth straight of a foe and fourteenth in sixteen total UFC wins.
