The MMA world can breathe a collective sigh of relief, as it appears Strikeforce heavyweight Daniel Cormier will still compete on November 3 even though original opponent Frank Mir was forced out of the match-up due to injury. Cormier is currently undefeated and seen as a likely title-contender as soon as he joins the UFC’s roster after his next outing under the Strikeforce banner.

However, no opponent was linked to the bout with Cormier although fighters such as Roy Nelson, Andrei Arlovski, Matt Mitrione, and Fabricio Werdum have all volunteered their services if needed.

MMAJunkie was first to report Cormier’s remaining slot on the show’s lineup.

Cormier Interested in Eventual Fight at 205 Pounds with Jon Jones

Regardless of who he faces, Cormier will enter the bout with a ton of momentum after starting his career off in impressive fashion. The 10-0 grappler has looked incredibly sharp as of late, racking up consecutive victories over Jeff Monson, Antonio Silva, and Josh Barnett.
