Bellator has called a video press conference for Monday at 3 PM EST that streams live from Bellator.com. This press conference is expected to be when they announce the signing of former UFC lightweight “El Matador” Roger Huerta (20-3-1).

Since the signing of one time heavyweight boxing champ James Toney (0-0) rumors have been swirling about his potential opponent. The one fighter talked about the most was Kimbo Slice (4-1) and we now that he will not be fighting James Toney anytime soon.
Claude Patrick (11-1) has recently signed a four fight contract with the UFC. Patrick announced the news on the “The Fight Show with Mauro Ranallo”.

Strikeforce is doing all it can do in order to push their promotion and as they prepare for the second event on network television they have some fighters looking to make a splash on MTV.
It was announced that heavyweight boxing champion “Lights Out” James Toney (0-0) has signed a five-fight deal with the UFC. The latest is that the contract is the first ever non-exclusive contract that the UFC has done. The signing of Toney can be looked at as a freak show, a shot to beat Strikeforce to the punch or a vehicle to prove that MMA is greater than boxing but no matter how you view it the important question is what will this do for the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA).

Yesterday we found out that Strikeforce heavyweight champion “Demolition Man” Alistair Overeem will becoming back to the states to fight once again under the Strikeforce banner. His opponent is none other than Fighters.com sixth-ranked heavyweight Brett Rogers (10-1).

“Daddy” Joe Stevenson (31-9) was contacted by Fighters.com and UFC lightweight champion “The Prodigy” BJ Penn (15-5-1) with an offer to come train with him. Stevenson told him no thanks because he believes he will get another title shot before the end of the year. Apparently BJ wanted a strong wrestler to train with for his fight against “The Answer” Frank Edgar (11-1)at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi. Joe must be losing his mind to say no to this opportunity.
