In one of the biggest MMA scandals to hit 2011 so far, Nate Marquardt was removed from his main event slot at today’s “UFC on Versus 4” event due to failing his medical examinations. Rumors and speculation have been running wild, with little actual facts to substantiate anything. But one thing we do know is that UFC President Dana White made the call to not only remove Marquardt from the event, but remove him from the UFC altogether. For several reasons, ufc 125 “Resolution” has already emerged as the possible “Sleeper Hit” of the year, thanks in no small part to the epic second showdown between Frank Edgar and Gray Maynard. Rick Story is a grinder. He's a finisher, he's a prospect, and he knows becoming a legitimate threat in the welterweight division. "The Horror" Story was most recently in action on December 4 for "The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale" when he defeated fellow budding star Johnny Hendricks, extending his win streak to now five-in-a-row and becoming a prominent fixture in the 170-pound weight class. Rather then wait for the UFC to take notice and plan their next move for Rick, the welterweight star has went on his own initiative and called out one of the best that the division has to offer. Who? While the phrase “quietly making waves” can be considered a bit of an oxymoron, it almost-perfectly describes the situation UFC Welterweight Rick Story finds himself in. The three-year MMA veteran has been a bit of a background fighter in his time with the UFC, but that’s a bit unfair when you consider that he’s on a five-fight win-streak with two finishes and hasn’t lost since June 2009. Now more than ever, Story is looking to break away from the shackles of obscurity and emerge as a legitimate threat in the crowded, highly-competitive Welterweight division of the UFC.
