WEC 37: Munoz Bullies Barros On The Ground
By: Jason F. Hatcher in MMA News
Mark Munoz(3-0) defeated Ricardo Barros (2-2) with a quick swarm of power shots at 2:26 of the first round at WEC 37 in Las Vegas Wednesday night.
Munoz, who is trained by former WEC champion "California Kid" Urijah Faber(21-2), was taken down early in the opening round by Barros. Soon after, Munoz was able to work up to his knees and put Barros on his back. Munoz took side control and suddenly found Barros giving up his back. Munoz took the gift and made good on it by landing numerous power shots to the side of Barros's h*ead. Barros had no answer for the punches, cuing referee Steve Mazzagatti to step in and stop the fight at 2:26 of the first round.
Mark Munoz officially won the bout via TKO stoppage at 2:26 of round one.
