Bellator season two lightweight winner Pat Curran will be looking to go back to "lighter pastures" upon his return to the cage. Curran, who has in the past regularly competed at his more natural weight of 145-pounds, most recently stepped foot back inside the Bellator banner following a 10-month layoff due to a shoulder injury, when he faced champion Eddie Alvarez for the 155-pound title. Despite a spirited performance which saw Curran make it to the final bell, the top-5 lightweight in Eddie dominated a game Curran from start to finish and eventually secured the unanimous decision win. With some notable victories now under his belt and a championship bout with Alvarez, Curran will be hoping to make some noise at 145-pound as he will now enter the upcoming featherweight tournament, which kicks off this Summer. ...

One of the hardest punchers in the lightweight division, Eddie Alvarez will finally be defending his Bellator title when he takes on tournament winner Pat Curran come this April. Curran, cousin to UFC and WEC veteran Jeff Curran, has been sidelined due to a shoulder injury since late last year, however Pat is now healthy and determined to become the promotion's new 155-pound title holder. Pat Curran (12-3) entered the night as an underdog yet again but pulled off a split decision, some are calling controversial, victory over Toby Imada (26-15) to win the lightweight tournament.
