Jason Miller is back in the news again… but then again, Miller is rarely not in the news. Now that his mega-feud with Nick Diaz is about as dead as it gets, Miller has turned his sights on Michael Bisping, the man he’ll be coaching against during the upcoming landmark fourteenth season of “The Ultimate Fighter”. In a new video interview, Miller launched into one of his classic tirades, this time focusing on the brash Brit. Here are the highlights. ...
At the end of the fourteenth season of “The Ultimate Fighter”, the UFC will have fulfilled its current contract with Spike TV. Many fans and insiders are currently speculating what the future holds for the UFC once their current contract is through. I think that’s all well and fine, but I’m really excited for TUF Season 14, and that has nothing to do with the rumor that this could be the last TUF on Spike or (and here’s a crazy thought) the last TUF period. Don’t believe me? Here’s five reasons to look forward to “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 14. ...
After weeks of debate, rumor, and speculation… “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 14 has found its two coaches. The early candidates for the next season of the popular and long-running ufc reality TV show were the brash Brit Michael Bisping and former UFC Middleweight Championship challenger Chael Sonnen. But due to Sonnen’s many, many legal and professional woes, that’s not going to happen. Instead, Michael Bisping will return to coaching TUF again… but he’ll do it against Jason Miller, a highly controversial and very charismatic goofball that made major waves when he jumped ship to the UFC from Strikeforce. Here are all the details. ...
While some of the controversy surrounding UFC 127 laid upon the main-event of the evening, which pitted former champ BJ Penn against Jon Fitch where the two welterweights fought to a draw, Michael Bisping might have taken the spotlight. At UFC 127, which took place at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia, there was a lot of heat between both Jorge Rivera and Michael Bisping, who were the co-main event of the evening late last month. Rivera posted numerous videos online, mocking the Brit, and it clearly got under his skin. Eventually, the two met and Bisping was declared the winner via TKO. However, the fight wasn't without it's issues, and the whole world took note, including UFC President Dana White, and he has since punished the Bisping accordingly. ...
It appears that Chael Sonnen is in the news again. And in typical Sonnen fashion, he took time out of his busy schedule of personal problems and scandals in order to spit venom at another fighter. My initial gut reaction was to make a post spitting just as much venom back, but there’s a saying that goes something like “an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind”. But there’s also the saying about the pot calling the kettle black. In calling out Michael Bisping, Chael Sonnen pretty much makes himself out to be the blackest pot on the face of the earth. But I have to admit, this is one fight I’d love to see. ...
To: Joe Silva, Matchmaker Extraordinaire, Ultimate Fighting Championship Re: Spitsbing & his tainted victory Joe: Former ufc middleweight contender Chael Sonnen has a long ways to go before he steps foot back inside the octagon. After having been speculated for using performance enhancing supplement's after his spirited fifth-round submission loss to champion Anderson Silva last August, Sonnen did himself no favors thereafter when he plead guilty to money laundering charges--a federal offense that can carry a sentence of over twenty years in prison and a maximum fine of $500,000. UFC President Dana White has since frozen the brash-middleweight fighter's contract, suspending Sonnen for the interim until he can get his head on straight before he makes his way back inside the octagon. However, that hasn't stopped the Team Quest product from calling out several opponent's upon his return, namely Michael Bisping. ...
UFC 127 was a solid but not a great card. The second ever UFC event in Australia brought out the best of Michael Bisping against an aging opponent, revealed the unique skills of a UFC newcomer, and provided a main event that featured surprising tactics by "The Prodigy" BJ Penn. Click through for detailed notes on UFC 127. ...
By John Moody If any UFC 127 fighter’s life is ripe to be made into a movie it is the story of Jorge Rivera. A stunning knockout of Michael Bisping in Australia would certainly sweeten the script for any Hollywood suit on the fence. Why Jorge Rivera? ...
We’re now only a few days away from UFC 127 "Penn vs. Fitch". In the main event, BJ Penn takes on Jon Fitch for the next shot at the UFC Welterweight Championship.. The co-main event will also be an interesting match-up, as Michael Bisping and Jorge Rivera look to settle a bitter war of words inside the Octagon. As is customary, here is my official “picks and predictions” post (covering who I think will win and why), now featuring UFC 127 "Penn vs. Fitch". ...
On February 27 (26 in the United States), the UFC will hold its highly-anticipated “Penn vs. Fitch” event, featuring a major welterweight showdown between top stars BJ Penn and Jon Fitch, with a shot at the UFC Welterweight Championship on the line. Also, heavy-handed Middleweight fighters Jorge Rivera and Michael Bisping will look to settle a bitter and heated rivalry when they step into the Octagon in the night’s co-main event. Still, some fans may be asking themselves: what are the best reasons to check out this card? Here’s my answer to just that: 5 reasons to watch UFC 127 “Penn vs. Fitch”. ...

Today’s double-entry features the impending encounter between tough Middleweight fighters Michael Bisping and Jorge Rivera. For five reasons why Rivera could beat Bisping, click here. Now it’s time to focus on the five reasons why I think Michael Bisping could beat Jorge Rivera. ...
Normally it’s ufc star Michael Bisping that does all the trash talking in the weeks leading up to his next fight. Bisping’s cocky attitude has earned him the ire of many fighting fans, and to this day, Bisping remains a controversial fighter. Heading into his fight with Jorge Rivera, though, it’s Rivera that seems to be getting the better of the Brit when it comes to the verbal war. A series of hilarious online videos seems to have managed to get under Bisping’s skin, as he recently launched into a tirade against his upcoming opponent. Here are all the details. ...
There isn't much else that ufc middleweight champion Anderson Silva has left to accomplish in his mixed martial arts career, outside of moving either up or down in weight class. The phenomenal Brazilian striker has defended his middleweight title a record seven times, and currently enjoys the longest win streak inside the octagon with twelve consecutive victories. He holds victories as a light heavyweight in the UFC, most notably knocking out former champion Forrest Griffin, one of the division's biggest men, inside of the first round. And while Silva has Vitor Belfort next on deck at UFC 126 this February, he still takes the time in reveling in what might come after next. So what does the Muay Thai specialist desire? A fight with "The Ultimate Fighter" season three winner Michael Bisping, and in the UK no less. ...
Brian Stann is a UFC veteran, a former WEC Light Heavyweight Champion, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. And at UFC 125 “Resolution”, he finally emerged as a legitimate threat in the UFC’s Middleweight division, beating back the always-dangerous Chris Leben and putting an end to what was arguably the best win-streak of Leben’s career. Moving forward, Stann could emerge as a legitimate championship contender by the time 2011 is through, so long as he faces the right opponents. And who should those opponents be? Here’s a Top 5 with just that in mind. ...
As the ufc continues its rapid international expansion, more and more countries seem to be putting in their bids for an exclusive version of the UFC’s popular reality TV show “The Ultimate Fighter”. The reasoning behind this country vs. country “TU(r)F War” is very sound and very simple: TUF is widely regarded as one of the major events that brought the UFC into the mainstream in the United States, and it’s remained on television with consistently-good ratings for a ridiculous amount of time. And the latest rumor surrounding TUF’s international expansion focuses on the possibility of a “Team UK vs. Team Australia” season. Here are all the details. ...
From the moment its main event was first announced, fans around the world started buzzing about ufc 127. This will mark the second time the UFC has visited the Land Down Under, as the event is scheduled for February 27 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. Jon Fitch and BJ Penn clash in the main event in a key welterweight showdown that has serious title implications. The official and complete card was recently announced, so here are all the details. ...
It’s been talked about for weeks now, and more and more reports have the bout coming closer and closer to fruition. It’s Michael Bisping vs. Jorge Rivera, and right it’s about as official as it’s ever going to get. In a recent YouTube video, Michael Bisping himself confirmed that he would be meeting Rivera, most likely in the co-main event, at UFC 127 in Australia. And in typical Bisping fashion, he also took time to get in some precise verbal jabs. Here are the highlights. ...
There has been some back and forth between middleweight's Jorge Rivera and Michael Bisping concerning the validity of their rumored match up, which is said to take place on Feb. 27 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. Bisping spoke in his personal blog that he has been approached about fighting on the February card at ufc 127, but that no opponent had been discussed. Following his brief stint in Germany, Jorge Rivera disclosed that preliminary talks were in place for a match up against Bisping for the Australia card. Jorge's opponent at UFC 122 in Oberhausen, Alessio Sakara, had pulled out at the last minute of their co-main event slot due to illness. Now, both Bisping and Jorge will look to climb the ladder of the middleweight division with a win over one another. ...
Budding contender Jorge Rivera has been having a bit of bad luck lately. Though he's been riding high in a rebirth of his UFC career, where he is now riding a three-fight win streak inside the octagon, which is the first time he has been able to do so in his career, he has had a hard time setting up a fight. His last victory, a big one at that, came in the form of a second-round TKO victory over former title challenger Nate Quarry last March at "UFC Fight Night 21", but since then "El Matador" has had two failed bouts come to fruition against fellow resurgent middleweight, Alessio Sakara. ...
Budding middleweight contender Jorge Rivera looks to quickly rebound after a disappointing turn of events at ufc 122. After a match up between fellow contender Alessio Sakara had been botched not once, but twice, you could understand how frustrated the Massachusetts native would be. At the age of 38 and with nearly 10 years clocked into the mixed martial arts world, it's now or never for Rivera. With his most recent resurgence, another win or two over credible opponents will make him an attractive challenger to the middleweight title. But first, Jorge must get through Michael Bisping. ...
UFC 120: “Bisping vs. Akiyama” delivered a lot to MMA fans over in the UK. British fans got a good card with good-to-great fights after a year-long drought, and the event itself had so many fans attend that it was able to crack the top ten list of the most-attended events in UFC history. However, the UFC’s success in live gate attendance is tempered with the news that the show didn’t perform as well in its tape-delayed broadcast on Spike TV, as well as the fact that several fighters are looking at lengthy suspensions following UFC 120. Here are all the details. ...
Michael Bisping always seems to get himself a big win right when he needs it the most. He rebounded from a loss to Rashad Evans by dropping down to Middleweight and winning three straight fights. He rebounded from the first KO loss of his career by TKO’ing former PRIDE FC star Denis Kang. And he’s now rebounded from a tough loss to Wanderlei Silva with two tough wins over Dan Miller and Yoshihiro Akiyama. So what’s next for the brash British bad-boy? Here are my top 5 opponents for Michael Bisping. ...
According to early reports and estimates, UFC 120 was quite a success. This was the first event in London, England since UFC 95 back in February 2009, and UK fans turned out in droves to see top British stars like Michael Bisping and Dan Hardy, alongside up-and-comers John Hathaway and winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 9 James Wilks. The action-packed night saw several notable moments, and the UFC recently handed out their traditional “Of the Night” bonuses, awarding the night’s top fighters with an additional $60,000 for their spirited performances. Here are all the details regarding the attendance figures and bonuses of UFC 120: “Bisping vs. Akiyama”. ...
Welcome back to another edition of “What’s Next”, fans and friends. UFC 120: “Bisping vs. Akiyama” has come and gone, and by now fans in the United States have gotten their chance to view the action-packed London, England card courtesy of a tape delayed rebroadcast of the event on Spike TV. The card featured such highlights as Michael Bisping surviving a first-round scare and getting a tough Unanimous Decision win over Yoshihiro Akiyama, while former WEC Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit shocked the world and firmly established himself in the UFC with an incredible KO win over Dan Hardy. So what’s next for the winners and losers of UFC 120? Here are my thoughts. ...
The ufc has officially concluded its twentieth double-digit event, UFC 120: “Bisping vs. Akiyama”. In the main event, the always-brash, ever-cocky Michael Bisping toughed out a three-round war with Yoshihiro Akiyama to take a big and badly-needed Unanimous Decision win in front of his hometown crowd. However, the highlight of the event saw former WEC Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit knock out former UFC Welterweight Championship contender Dan Hardy in the culmination of a very bitter verbal war. Here are the full results to UFC 120: “Bisping vs. Akiyama”. ...
Today marks another milestone for the UFC: it’s twentieth triple-digit event. The best and biggest MMA promotion in the planet is celebrating the occasion with a pretty nice card over in England, the birthplace of the UFC’s current drive towards international expansion. In the main event, cocky Brit Michael Bisping will face popular Asian fighter Yoshihiro Akiyama in a clash of nations as well as styles. It all goes down in a couple of hours for us Americans, so here are my picks and predictions for UFC 120: “Bisping vs. Akiyama”. ...
Tomorrow the UFC will hold UFC 120: “Bisping vs. Akiyama” at the O2 Arena in London, England. The card will see brash British bad boy Michael Bisping taking on Yoshihiro Akiyama in the main event. Fellow Brits Dan Hardy, John Hathaway, and James Wilks will all share the main stage with “The Count”. Today the weigh-ins were held for the event, with all fighters successfully making weight. Here are the full weigh-in results to UFC 120, courtesy of Sherdog. ...
1. What effect will trainer Greg Jackson have on Yoshihiro Akiyama? The Japanese fighter noted he worked with Jackson ahead of this fight vs. Michael Bisping. Jackson has come to be known for taking exciting, offensive fighters, and instilling detailed game plans which emphasize controlling pace, and wrestling for body control … often to the benefit of the fighter in terms of scoring points, but not always a fan friendly style. Read on for questions 2-7... ...
UFC 120 competitors Michael Bisping and Dan Hardy, both Englishmen, had been thought to be enemies not too long ago. While their careers have taken two extremely different paths, Hardy working the international circuit for years before coming into the UFC in 2008, and Bisping, short cutting his way to fame by winning a coveted six-figure contract with the worlds largest mixed martial arts organization, through season 3 of "The Ultimate Fighter". While it seems at times both are competing against one another indirectly, in order to become the leading faces of the UK MMA scene, that couldn't be anything further from the truth. ...
