UFC 129 Prelim: John Makdessi KO's Kyle Watson
UFC 129 Prelim: John Makdessi KO's Kyle Watson

In a lightweight affair, Canada's own John Makdessi was featured in a facebook aired bout with "The Ultimate Fighter" season twelve semi-finalist Kyle Watson for tonights ufc 129 event. Watson, primarily a wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu practioner, knew that his best chance at victory would be to take down the smaller Makdessi, whom has proven in the past to be not only a handful but seemingly unsolvable puzzle, as he remains undefeated in his professional mixed martial arts career. After an action-light beginning to their bout, Makdessi brought the house down with his third-round knockout victory over the H.I.T Squad representative, in what has already become an early favorite for "Knockout of the Night". ...

Two-additional bouts added to "UFC 129: St-Pierre vs. Shields"; 12 bouts total so far

Beginning as a welterweight earlier in his career, it's incredible to see Ivan Menjivar eventually pair down to the bantamweight division at 135-pounds. My earliest memory of the Canadian was when he battled Georges St. Pierre in the champion's professional debut years ago in a 170-pound affair, actually coming in a pound over the required weight limit. And now, he just fought one of the toughest, grittiest fights of his career when he was paired up against a five-foot-six-inch Brit named Brad Pickett. Though he lost in the "Fight of the Night" contender bout at the WEC's final show last December, he was still picked up by the Zuffa organization and will be making his reentry into the UFC following a near seven-year absence. ...

It’s become somewhat of a tradition to have a series of eleventh-hour fight announcements for an upcoming “Ultimate Finale” event that features some of the fighters from the latest season of the popular ufc reality TV show “The Ultimate Fighter”. In that vein, the UFC has recently announced a pair of fights for their upcoming “The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale” event. According to one source, one of the bouts will even make the main card and feature a certain former WEC championship contender. Here are all the details. ...

American Top Team lightweight Yves Edwards (34-15-1) will fight German Mario Stapel (13-11) at Shine Fights’ American Top Team VS The World in Miami 4 September, Fighters.com has confirmed. Fighers.com reported yesterday Edwards would likely fight Kyle Watson (13-6-1), but should've waited for the ink to mark the paper. Fighters.com was aware Stapel had been mentioned, but was told by multiple sources at ATT that Watson was Edwards's likely opponent. Stapel tapped "Hitman" Harris Sarmiento (25-20) in a guillotine at Shine's original show in Columbus 9 May. Edwards lost a UD to “Bang” Duane Ludwig at Strikeforce in San Jose last November and will be fighting to end a two-fight losing run. ...
