After an exciting night of fights turned just under a day ago, many fighters came out on top, both notching another win to their records, while picking up a hefty bonus in addition to their performances.

The bonuses were delivered last night following the conclusion of “UFC Fight Night 22″, which took place in Austin, Texas in front of a stellar crowd at the Frank Erwin Center before an estimated 7,724 people in attendance.

While it has been in rare form that no more than one bonus in each category be given out, UFC head honchos Dana White and the Fertita brothers felt the need to praise those who performed well, and it was well deserved.

Brian Foster out of the H.I.T Squad, picked up the “Knockout of the Night” award for his one-minute drubbing of veteran Forrest Petz. In the early going, Petz was game to stand and trade with the heavy-handed Foster, but it ultimately led to his demise when a straight right hand delivered by Brian sent Petz to the canvas. Foster followed up with additional blows, but the end was already decided and Foster moves his record in the UFC to an even 2-2 and picks up $40k for his performance.

Charles Oliveira made the most of his opportunity when he stepped on short notice to face season 8 winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” Efrain Escudero–who came in a staggering 8 pounds over weight for his lightweight bout with the Brazilian. Not only did Efrain forfeit 20% of purse, he also gave Charles the honors of “Submission of the Night” when the Jiu-Jitsu specialist was able to capitalize in a scramble and submit “Hecho en Mexico” with a standing rear-naked choke in the third round. This is Charles’ second time winning the submission bonus in his only two outings in the UFC.

Cole Miller also earned the “Submission of the Night” award after defeating fellow TUF veteran (and Season 9 winner) Ross Pearson by a rear naked choke of his own in the second round, after dropping the British slugger with a left hook and followed him to the ground, cinching the choke, the victory, and the bonus.

In preliminary action, Jared Hamman and Kyle Kingsbury let it all hang out. Kingsbury, who has been absent since a decision victory over Razak Al-Hassan at UFC 103 in September of last year while honing his stand up skills in Thailand, looked every bit of the improved fighter that he set out to be. Hamman, though, gave him everything he could handle. After three round of heated stand up exchanges, take downs, and fireworks throughout, Kyle–the American Kickboxing Academy product–came out on top with the unanimous decision victory, but both men claimed an additional $40k for their efforts as they both rightfully earned the coveted “Fight of the Night” award.

So, MMA peeps, were the awards justified? Anyone else you had in mind? Sound off.

As reported by Fighters.com 9 August, former UFC heavyweight champion “Maine-iac” Tim Sylvia (24-6) and current UFC 205er “Assassin” Houston Alexander (8-4) will co-headline Adrenaline MMA 4 in Omaha 18 September in separate fights, Adrenaline MMA CEO Monte Cox announced Saturday.

On a three-fight losing streak and most recently on the horizontal end of a “Merciless” Ray Mercer (1-0) nine-second knockout at Adrenaline MMA 3 in Birmingham 13 June, Sylvia will get to diggin’ himself out of the deepest trench of his underrated career versus Jason Riley (6-1).

Riley knocked out Justin Black (2-2) for the heavyweight title at Caged Vengence 4 in Columbus 3 April.

After three first-round losses in the Octagon, Alexander gets a pass from the UFC to fight “Tank” Sherman Pendergarst (11-14), training partner of Sylvia.

At UFC Fight Night 15 in Omaha in September 2008, Alexander tapped in a arm triangle to “Red” Eric Schafer (12-4-2). Alexander is still under contract to the UFC, but has been given the opportunity to get some action while he awaits his next Octagon appearance.

One-time UFCer Pendergarst has lost five in a row, most recently a first-round TKO to Joey Beltran (7-1) at Bellator 5 in Dayton 1 May.

Middleweight Jake Ellenberger (20-4) was pegged to fight Adrenaline 4 until he was happily poached by the UFC to fight “Natural Born Killer” Carlos Condit (23-5) at Fight Night 19 in Oklahoma City 16 September.

Adrenaline MMA 4 will be held at the Mid-American Center in Council Bluffs on 18 September. The undercard will start at 7:30 PM; the main card will be broadcast on HDNet beginning at 9:00 PM. Pre-sale tickets start at $33 for general admission, $103 ringside, and $530 for a table of ten. Purchase tickets at Ticketmaster.

The rest of the card includes:

HDNet Broadcast at 9:00 PM:
“Grinder” Chad Reiner (19-8) v “Meat Cleaver” Forrest Petz (13-7)
Alonzo Martinez (22-10-1) v Ryan Williams (10-4)
Jeremy Lang (13-1) v Matt Delanoit (13-6)
Joe Vedepo (9-2) v Webster Farris (1-0)
James Siepel (4-1) v Bob Tuttle (0-0)

Untelevised:
Todd Meneely (0-0) v Corey McDonald (1-1)
Dustin Smith (2-0) v Marcos Marquez (3-1)
Matt Bentley (0-1) v Danny Black (1-0)
John Hansen (3-1) v Gregg Van der Creek (0-0)

Chicago’s “Bartimus” Bart Palaszewski (29-11) snapped a three-fight losing streak with a right high kick that left “Grinder” Jeffrey Cox (9-6) unconcious against the fence at 1:27 of round two Saturday night at Adrenaline MMA in Hoffman Estates, east of Chicago.

After a paced and cautious first round for both fighters, “Bartimus” began working kicks in the second, first a solid body shot, then snapping at Cox’s leg.

During the final flurried exchange, Palaszewski wheeled a wide left hook to Cox’s body, backing Cox into range for the right high kick finisher.

Palaszewski literally lept out of the cage upon the stoppage “W”.

In the main event, Michael Russow (10-1) manhandled late replacement for “Snowman” Jeff Monson (24-8), Jason Guida (17-16), tapping Clay’s big brother in a standing neck crank against the fence at 2:13 of round one.

“I hope he’s OK,” Russow related after the stoppage.

Hometown hero Rory Markham (14-4) said, “Let’s get serious. That guy just jumped over me!” after “Silent Assassin” Jay Ellis (5-19) launched a flying knee at the opening bell, indeed, flying right over Markham. “So, I decided I was going to keep it on the ground.”

Markham pounced on Ellis; but, Ellis swept to Markham’s guard, which Markham climbed into a triangle tapout at 57 seconds of round one.

H.I.T. Squad lightweight Clay French (16-2) pulled rank on “Sergeant” Jameel Massouh in a second round rear naked choke submission at 3:18.

French took Massouh to the mat at will and, when French began posturing out of the rubber guard Massouh originally used to neutralize French’s G’n'P, he bullied Massouh to his stomach and sank the choke.

Middleweight Terry Martin (17-4) took three kicks to the groin before the referee disqualified Daiju Takase (7-12-1).

“The last one hit me right in the cup,” Martin admitted after the fight, “but…damn!”

Takase slammed his mouthpiece to the mat at the second round disqualification.

“Meat Cleaver” Forrest Petz (14-5) survived a first round knockdown by “Mandingo” Brian Gassaway (28-18-2) to win a unanimous decision by 29-28 three times in his first post-UFC fight.

“Mandingo” floored Petz with left in the first, but was unable to finish before the end of the round.

Gassaway was gassed in the second and third rounds and Petz began landing more in the sporadic flurries and dominating the mat with G’n'P.

Team Curran welterweight Mike Stumpf (10-1) TKO’d Dom O’Grady (4-1) at 3:53 of round one.

O’Grady controlled round one with technical kickboxing, keeping Stumpf at distance with a jab and snapping leg kick.

Two minutes into the second round, Stumpf lunged forward in a flurry, dropping O’Grady with a left hook.

O’Grady turtled up beneath Stumpf; but, Stumpf took O’Grady’s back and rolled him over. O’Grady slickly flipped and twisted into Stumpf’s guard, quickly closing to a leg triangle as O’Grady yanked free.

O’Grady dropped again amidst another flurry from Stumpf. This time, Stumpf pounced and windmilled punches for the referee stoppage.

Light heavyweight Aaron Rosa (11-2) obliterated “Killing Fields” Ron Fields (24-26-1) with a big right at :34 of round two for a KO victory.

Rosa and Fields had wrestled most of round one; and, but for the cage stopping Fields’s momentum, Fields nearly locked in an armbar on Rosa.

Kentucky boy Joe Jordan (42-12-2) schooled the kid, lightweight Ryan Williams (5-3), for a unanimous decision.

Jordan set-up downstairs with heavy body shots, then climbed to Williams’s head, leaving a welt on the left side of Williams’s face and a cut on the right.

Whether due to the body shots or bright lights, Williams was lethargic and never really got off in the fight.

Featherweight Joe Pearson (26-10-1) dispensed with the stand-up toot sweet after getting tagged with a John Hosman (7-4-1) southpaw overhand right.

Pearson clinched up, tripped Hosman into his guard, and wriggled under Hosman’s G’n'P before catching the less experienced fighter in a leg triangle in the first round.

Light heavyweight Louis Taylor (3-0) was able to bookend a gassed out second round with a first round of counter punching and third round of G’n'P to win a unanimous decision over Adam Maciejewski (6-5) by scores of 29-28 twice and 30-27.

Maciejewski left the first round with cuts under both eyes from Taylor’s quick, if wild, hands.

Taylor wore himself out tagging Maciejewski and took round two off before tripping Maciejewski in round three and piecing together enough looping shots to win the decision.

Fighters.com scored the fight 29-28 for Taylor.

The most damaging strike landed to Hector Urbina(12-4) by David Kleczkowski (5-4) was a first round thumb to the eye.

That just pissed off Urbina, who tagged the herky-jerky Kleczkowski with a jab, left cross, well…you name it.

No one will question Kleczkowski’s granite chin though.

He survived to 1:19 of the second round before the referee ended the beating with Urbina pounding Kleczkowski against the mat.

Heavyweight “Meat Truck” Kerry Schall (21-10) barrelled into center cage to begin his fight with “Herc” Antoine Hayes (7-5), tagging “Herc” with straight rights.

Then, the “Truck” down shifted to Hayes’s pace; and, “Herc” secured a standing North/South, kneeing Schall relentlessly in the second round.

By the third round, Schall was out of gas and Hayes ground’n'pounded to a UD by 29-28 three times.

Welterweight Tom Belt (4-1) mounted and pounded out Marcus Levesseur (5-2) at 4:10 of round one.
