Former title challenger Nate Quarry contemplates retirement
Former title challenger Nate Quarry contemplates retirement

Season one veteran of "The Ultimate Fighter", Nate Quarry is faced with possibly the hardest decision in his life. A professional mixed martial artist since 2001 when debuted in the sport with a TKO victory over Drew McFedries, Quarry eventually found his way into the ufc after his brief stint on the TUF show, where he was sidelined early in the season due to injury. He was invited back into the promotion and scored a TKO victory over fellow TUF veteran Lodune Sincaid at the season's finale show. Stoppage victories over Shonie Carter and Pete Sell later set up a title match between Quarry and then middleweight champion, Rich Franklin. Though Nate was unsuccessful in capturing the championship, he remained a viable player in the middleweight division up until recently when he suffered a devastating TKO loss to Jorge Rivera. The wear and tear over the years have left Quarry questioning 'just how much longer can I do this?' And for that reason, at 38-years-old, Nate might think it's time to hang it up. ...

Rivera vs Sakara on for UFC 122
Rivera vs Sakara on for UFC 122

A bout originally scheduled for UFC 118 this Saturday, has been pushed off till November, for the UFC's second trip to Germany, and it's first since it's inception last year for UFC 99, which was headlined by former champions Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin. Said bout, a middleweight affair against Jorge Rivera against fellow banger Alessio Sakara has stayed alive. The bout will mark a true push for each competitor, as one another will look for contenders' status in a crowded 185-pound division, dominated by Anderson Silva--though Chael Sonnen might argue the point. ...

Infamous Moments in MMA History: Kalib Starnes vs. Nate Quarry

With my new running series “Great Moments in MMA History” well underway, I figured it would be an interesting idea to start another new series focusing on the exact opposite: some of the really bad stuff that have happened in the wide world of MMA. Whether it’s saddening, infuriating, or a case of “so bad it’s funny”, “Infamous Moments in MMA History” will look at moments in MMA that are memorable for the controversy they caused or the strong negative reaction they garnered. The inaugural edition features a fight that I’m sure absolutely no one will be surprised to see in a series like this. This single fight will likely haunt this fighter’s career for the rest of his life, and there’s even a popular MMA website based solely on his actions once this fight got underway. In quite possibly the worst case of an MMA fighter simply not wanting to fight, Kalib Starnes vs. Nate Quarry starts off “Infamous Moments in MMA History”. ...

UFC Fight Night 19: Nate Quarry Edges Tim Credeur With Big Right Hands

Middleweight “Rock” Nathan Quarry (12-3) won a three-round decision over "Crazy" Timothy Credeur (12-2) by judges' scores of 29-28 twice and a ridiculous 29-27 at UFC Fight Night 19 in Oklahoma City Wednesday night. After the victory, Quarry described his strategy as, "Simple.  Go and fight!" ...
