Jonathan Brookins vs. Jeremy Stephens: Who Wins At TUF 13 Finale?

It appears as if Jonathan Brookins was only allowed one fight before being tossed into the UFC shark tank. A winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 12, rumors are now circulating that Brookins will next fight at the finale event for the thirteenth season of the popular UFC reality TV show. Standing in his way is a man known for his knockout power that recently KO’d Marcus Davis right out of the UFC: “Lil’ Heathen” Jeremy Stephens. ufc 125 “Resolution” was pretty much a fantastic event from start to finish. This event marked the first time the UFC ever appeared on network TV, it was a night filled with fantastic finishes and interesting fights, and in the main event, Frank Edgar and Gray Maynard fought for five stellar rounds in an encounter that few will soon forget. The UFC handed out their traditional “Of the Night” awards and bonuses after the event, and new gate receipts and attendance figures have recently been turned in for UFC 125. Here are all the details. ...

"The Irish Hand Grenade" Ready to Explode at Lightweight, Marcus Davis Wants a UFC Championship

Even though he’s a thirteen-fight veteran of the UFC with five “Of the Night” bonuses throughout his many wars in the Octagon, Marcus Davis has never been perceived as a top-division star. He’s fought some impressive, entertaining wars against the UFC’s middle ranks, but he always seems to falter right when he’s on the cusp of actual championship relevancy. However, Davis knows this full well and is dropping down to Lightweight in order to finally fulfill his dream of holding a UFC championship. In a new interview, Davis outlines his plans for the future and promises that the best is still yet to come. ...

Marcus Davis makes his lightweight debut against Jeremy Stephens at UFC 125

After a long and storied career as a welterweight which began after the second season of "The Ultimate Fighter", Marcus Davis will begin a new chapter when he meets Jeremy Stephens at ufc 125, now as a lightweight. Since his inception in the UFC in 2005, Davis has been known for his boxing prowess, having knocked out three of his opponents inside the octagon. However, his submission game has been playing catch-up. In addition to his knockout ability, Davis has shown that he is no one trick pony, having submitted four opponents in the cage as well, adding veterans Pete Spratt, Paul Taylor and Paul Kelly among his victims. Losing three of his last four bouts, "The Irish Hand Grenade" knew that a change was in order. So when he announced his drop to the lightweight division a couple of weeks ago, and when Jeremy Stephens took to twitter begging for the fight, it looked like it would only be inevitable. ...

"Lil Heathen" wants to take on Marcus Davis in his lightweight debut

Jeremy Stephens is recognized as one of the lightweight divisions' most ferocious competitors. From bell to bell, "Lil Heathen" is gunning for the knockout victory, which is evident through his victories over standouts Rafael dos Anjos and Cole Miller. So when Stephens called out fellow slugger Melvin Guillard to action, it was a bout that was implicated as an all out slug fest. Unfortunately, the two dynamic lightweights didn't exactly deliver to the billing, and the three-round affair turned lackluster very quickly. In the end, "The Young Assassin" was declared the victor by split-decision, extending his winning streak to three-in-a-row while snapping Stephens' two fight win streak inside the ufc. However, Jeremy will have the chance to vindicate himself should he successfully campaign himself for a bout against former welterweight contender, Marcus Davis, who suggests that his career will continue now as a lightweight. ...

Nova Uniao lightweight Ronnys Torres (5-0) has again pulled from his UFC debut with an injury, this time from a matchup versus "Li'l Heathen" Jeremy Stephens (16-4) at Fight Night 19 in Oklahoma City 16 September.

Justin Buchholz (9-3) will replace Torres, according to MMA Junkie.

Stephens is on a two-fight losing streak, most recently on the short end of a unanimous decision versus Gleison Tibau (16-5) at Fight Night 18 in Nashville last April.

Buchholz tapped in an arm triangle to Terry Etim (13-2) at UFC 99 in Cologne last month.

“Lil’ Heathen” Jeremy Stephens (15-3), “McLovin” Dustin Hazelett (13-4), Aaron Riley (26-10-1), and Jorge Gurgel (12-5), each pocketed an extra $60,000 on top of their regular fight purse Saturday night at UFC 91 in Las Vegas. Lightweight Stephens earned “Knockout of the Night” with an epic third-round uppercut delivered to the chin of Rafael dos Anjos (12-1). Welterweight Hazelett secured the second “Submission of the Night” of his career with his “armbar from the omoplata”, forcing “Barn Cat” Tamdan McCrory (10-2) in round one. The back-and-forth lightweight scrap between Riley and Gurgel was “Fight of the Night”, which Riley took in a narrow unanimous decision. ...

UFC 91: Stephens over powers dos Anjos

Lightweight "Lil' Heathen" Jeremy Stephens (15-3) TKO'd  Rafael dos Anjos (12-1) with a monster uppercut at 0:39 of the third round at UFC 91 in Las Vegas Saturday night. Stephens started the match with some solid striking; but, Dos Anjos scored a takedown.  Stephens gained half-guard and successfully defended two omoplata attempts, the second of which ended at the bell as Stephens' shoulder was bent to the brink. Taking the advice of his corner, Stephens kept the fight standing in round two, circling and throwing powerful right crosses and overhands. Approximately 90 seconds into the round, dos Anjos scored a Matt Hughes-style slam and transitioned out of a crucifix, taking Stephens's back and working for a rear naked choke. Stephens rolled out of the position and fought off a very close armbar attempt, ending up in dos Anjos's guard.   Stephens rained down elbows, forcing dos Anjos to go on the defensive. Stephens struck like lightning at the beginning of round three, winding up and throwing a long right uppercut that landed on dos Anjos's jaw, snapping his head back and leaving him unconcious against the cage. ...

Sadollah and Stephens Face UFC Newcomers in November

TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah (1-0) will face Ring of Combat veteran Nick Catone (5-0) in a middleweight bout, and Jeremy Stephens (13-3) will face lightweight Rafael dos Anjos (11-2) 15 November at UFC 91 in Las Vegas, the organization announced Friday. Sadollah submitted “Doberman” CB Dollaway (7-1) via first-round armbar in June to win the previous season of The Ultimate Fighter. Catone, who will make his UFC debut, finished his last four fights in the first round, most recently TKO’ing Eric Tavares (5-9) in June. Stephens dropped a unanimous decision to “King” Spencer Fisher (21-4) in June at the TUF finale. UFC newcomer dos Anjos is riding a nine-fight win streak, most recently winning a split decision over Takafumi Otsuka (6-3-1). ...

Three TUF champions highlighted the action in Las Vegas Saturday night: the original, the past, and the future. The future shines brilliantly for The Ultimate Fighter's newest blast into the mainstream consciousness, Amir Sadollah (1-0). In his professional debut, Sadollah tapped "Doberman" CB Dollaway (6-1) in an armbar at 3:02 of round one to win the seventh season of the popular SpikeTV reality show contest. "Nightmare" Diego Sanchez (19-2), one of the two original Ultimate Fighters, looked physically fitter than ever in his third-round TKO of American Top Team's Luigi Fioravanti (12-4) at 4:07. After back-to-back "embarrasing" losses, "Spyder" Kendall Grove (9-5), TUF 3 champion, recaptured past glory in a three-round split decision over former UFC titlist Evan Tanner (32-8). The likeable young TUF walk-on from Virginia, Sadollah, versus the cocky All-American favorite, Dollaway, was a rematch of an exhibition fight fought on the final episode of last season's The Ultimate Fighter. Saturday's finish was almost a replay of that fight's end. ...
