Jeremy Stephens Fights and News
Torres's UFC Debut Postponed Again, Buchholz Replaces
Nova Uniao lightweight Ronnys Torres (5-0) has again pulled from his UFC debut with an injury, this time from a matchup versus “Li’l Heathen” Jeremy Stephens (16-4) at Fight Night 19 in Oklahoma City 16 September.
Justin Buchholz (9-3) will replace Torres, according to MMA Junkie.
Stephens is on a two-fight losing streak, most recently on the short end of a unanimous decision versus Gleison Tibau (16-5) at Fight Night 18 in Nashville last April.
Buchholz tapped in an arm triangle to Terry Etim (13-2) at UFC 99 in Cologne last month.
UFC 91 Bonuses Go to Stephens, Hazelett, Riley, and Gurgel
“Lil’ Heathen” Jeremy Stephens (15-3), “McLovin” Dustin Hazelett (13-4), Aaron Riley (26-10-1), and Jorge Gurgel (12-5), each pocketed an extra $60,000 on top of their regular fight purse Saturday night at UFC 91 in Las Vegas.
Lightweight Stephens earned “Knockout of the Night” with an epic third-round uppercut delivered to the chin of Rafael dos Anjos (12-1).
Welterweight Hazelett secured the second “Submission of the Night” of his career with his “armbar from the omoplata”, forcing “Barn Cat” Tamdan McCrory (10-2) in round one.
The back-and-forth lightweight scrap between Riley and Gurgel was “Fight of the Night”, which Riley took in a narrow unanimous decision.
UFC 91: Stephens over powers dos Anjos
Lightweight “Lil’ Heathen” Jeremy Stephens (15-3) TKO’d Rafael dos Anjos (12-1) with a monster uppercut at 0:39 of the third round at UFC 91 in Las Vegas Saturday night.
Stephens started the match with some solid striking; but, Dos Anjos scored a takedown. Stephens gained half-guard and successfully defended two omoplata attempts, the second of which ended at the bell as Stephens’ shoulder was bent to the brink.
Taking the advice of his corner, Stephens kept the fight standing in round two, circling and throwing powerful right crosses and overhands.
Approximately 90 seconds into the round, dos Anjos scored a Matt Hughes-style slam and transitioned out of a crucifix, taking Stephens’s back and working for a rear naked choke.
Stephens rolled out of the position and fought off a very close armbar attempt, ending up in dos Anjos’s guard. Stephens rained down elbows, forcing dos Anjos to go on the defensive.
Stephens struck like lightning at the beginning of round three, winding up and throwing a long right uppercut that landed on dos Anjos’s jaw, snapping his head back and leaving him unconcious against the cage.
Sadollah and Stephens Face UFC Newcomers in November
TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah (1-0) will face Ring of Combat veteran Nick Catone (5-0) in a middleweight bout, and Jeremy Stephens (13-3) will face lightweight Rafael dos Anjos (11-2) 15 November at UFC 91 in Las Vegas, the organization announced Friday.
Sadollah submitted “Doberman” CB Dollaway (7-1) via first-round armbar in June to win the previous season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Catone, who will make his UFC debut, finished his last four fights in the first round, most recently TKO’ing Eric Tavares (5-9) in June.
Stephens dropped a unanimous decision to “King” Spencer Fisher (21-4) in June at the TUF finale.
UFC newcomer dos Anjos is riding a nine-fight win streak, most recently winning a split decision over Takafumi Otsuka (6-3-1).
Sadollah Taps Dollaway...Again, Sanchez Renewed
Three TUF champions highlighted the action in Las Vegas Saturday night: the original, the past, and the future.
The future shines brilliantly for The Ultimate Fighter’s newest blast into the mainstream consciousness, Amir Sadollah (1-0).
In his professional debut, Sadollah tapped “Doberman” CB Dollaway (6-1) in an armbar at 3:02 of round one to win the seventh season of the popular SpikeTV reality show contest.
“Nightmare” Diego Sanchez (19-2), one of the two original Ultimate Fighters, looked physically fitter than ever in his third-round TKO of American Top Team’s Luigi Fioravanti (12-4) at 4:07.
After back-to-back “embarrasing” losses, “Spyder” Kendall Grove (9-5), TUF 3 champion, recaptured past glory in a three-round split decision over former UFC titlist Evan Tanner (32-8).
The likeable young TUF walk-on from Virginia, Sadollah, versus the cocky All-American favorite, Dollaway, was a rematch of an exhibition fight fought on the final episode of last season’s The Ultimate Fighter.
Saturday’s finish was almost a replay of that fight’s end.

Tuesday the UFC officially scheduled a home and an away game slotted for 24 May in Vegas and 7 June in London.
Loose lips had already divulged details for both events.

My Portuguese is a little rusty, but Wanderlei Silva has also confirmed via his blog that he’s signed to fight Keith Jardine on the Vegas strip.
Other rumored bouts include:
Ryoto Machida v Tito Ortiz
Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou v Kazuhiro Nakamura
Rashad Evans v Thiago Silva

Rousimar Palhares v Ivan Salaverry
Dong-hyun Kim v Jason Tan
Terry Etim v Jeremy Stephens

At 02 Arena in London 7 June, light heavyweights Chuck Liddell and Mauricio Rua will headline in a fight that not too long ago would’ve been considered the king-maker at 205.
Brandon Vera has also confirmed he’ll return versus Fabricio Werdum in London.
Brock Lesnar is also rumored to return on this fight card.
