Once thought of as an interesting idea that would only appeal to a small section of the fanbase, the Facebook broadcast of preliminary ufc fights have quickly become an event all to themselves. Current speculation has run rampant since two respective bouts took place under the same roof at UFC 123. The event, which took place at the Palace of Auburn Hills in the Detroit Suburbs on Nov. 20 held witness to the climb of former UFC title challenger Dennis Hallman as well as the demise of former champion Matt Hughes. Hallman, who prior to last Saturday vindicated himself with a unanimous decision victory over Ben Saunders following a knockout loss to contender John Howard in his return to the octagon, scored a first round TKO victory over former top-10 welterweight Karo Parisyan on the under card of the UFC 123 pay-per-view event. Former top welterweight contender Karo Parisyan returned last night inside the octagon when he faced MMA iron man, Dennis Hallman on the nights preliminary portion of the pay-per-view event. UFC 123, which took place in the suburbs of Detroit at the Palace of Auburn Hills, played host to a trilogy completed, a light heavyweight title eliminator put in the books, and now the quick return and exit of "The Heat". As fast as Karo was invited back into the octagon, he was quickly dispatched. What a strange, strange trip it’s been for Karo Parisyan. Parisyan debuted in the UFC over seven years ago, and at one time was viewed as a serious threat and a possible UFC Welterweight Champion. The strength of Parisyan’s judo has led him to hold both a four-fight and a three-fight win-streak while inside the sport’s biggest promotion and while facing some of its best competition. UFC welterweights "Superman" Dennis Hallman (41-12-1) and "Doomsday" John Howard (12-3) will fight each other on The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale in Las Vegas 5 December, Fighters.com has confirmed with a source close to one of the fighters.

Hallman returns to the Octagon four years after losing a UD to “El Conquistador” Jorge Rivera (16-7) at UFC 55 in Uncasville. He tapped Justin Davis (11-10) in a rear naked choke in just 27 seconds at Strikeforce Challengers in Seattle 19 June.

Howard won a split decision over "Barncat" Tamdan McCrory (11-3) at UFC 101 in Philadelphia 8 August, his second Octagon win in as many outings.

UFC welterweight Matt Hughes (41-7) publicly confirmed Wednesday's Fighters.com report that he recently signed a new UFC contract. At Matt-Hughes.com, Hughes blogged, "Last week I went out to Vegas and I signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC, which is much like my last contract." Fighters.com reported the contract is a four-fight deal that Hughes intends to lead him into retirement. ...

Hughes won a unanimous decision over "Terror" Matt Serra (9-6) three months ago and White announced in a pre-UFC 102 presser that Hughes won't return for at least another three months. Hughes was on hiatus for nearly an entire year before his UD over Serra.

Leites paired with UFC middleweight champion "Spider" Anderson Silva (25-4) at UFC 97 in Montréal 18 April to engage in the most disappointing Octagon main event of the year.
