When fan-favorite bantamweight Miguel Torres was recently released by the UFC for an inappropriate joke on Twitter it seemed possible he would eventually return at some point in the future. However, few could have known how quickly he’d be re-signed, as the former WEC champion appeared with UFC President Dana White after a press conference pertaining to UFC 141 and was announced as being back in the company.
According to White, Torres made amends for a comment about “rape vans” in reference to a television show and will be given another shot based on having volunteered time at a rape center, donating money to a related charity, and undergoing sensitivity training to better understand the issue.

It is unknown when Torres will actually fight again or who he will face.
Torres holds an overall record of 40-4 and is seen as one of the top 135-pound competitors in MMA. He has finished 32 of the opponents he’s beaten, holding past victories over Takeya Mizugaki, Antonio Banuelos, and most recently Nick Pace at UFC 139 in November.
