UFC 168: Ronda Rousey Put Forth Extra Challenges Ahead Of Herself

UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey challenged herself for tonight’s rematch with Miesha Tate at UFC 168.

Rousey accepted roles in two upcoming movies, “The Expendables 3″ and another installment in the hit “Fast & Furious” franchise.

The former Olympian felt that doing those “other” things would help her focus in on training for Tate, who she previously bested for the Strikeforce title.

“I feel great for this fight,” said Rousey, during the pre-fight press conference earlier this week. “I feel reinvigorated and my enthusiasm is up for this fight. I changed it up (for this camp); a whole bunch of things changed in camp.”

Rousey also believes that the issues between herself and Tate are the reason women have a place inside the UFC. The promotion is starting a strawwweight division in 2014.

“If we didn’t create that rivalry, I don’t know if (UFC president) Dana (White) and (co-owners Frank and Lorenzo) Fertitta would have watched,” Rousey said. “At that time, it was what everybody needed.

“A spectacle had to be created at first.”
