Jon Anik Steps in for Mike Goldberg at UFC 155

UFC brass confirmed this afternoon before the UFC 155 weigh-ins that commentator Mike Goldberg will not be in the booth as usual with Joe Rogan for the event. Instead, Fuel/FX commentator Jon Anik will be assuming the role with Rogan for the broadcast. Unfortunately, no one has commented as to why the switch has been made, but according to reports there were no plans for this to happen until earlier in the week.  According to UFC President Dana White, “He’s taking time off and is not working this weekend. I don’t know when he will be back.”

MMAJunkie reported:

The UFC will try out a new broadcast pairing on Saturday for UFC 155 – though that wasn’t the plan until this week. Regular pay-per-view play-by-play voice Mike Goldberg will sit out the UFC’s year-end event, and Jon Anik will join analyst Joe Rogan in the broadcast booth.
