Brendan Schaub facing Ben Rothwell at UFC 145

The last time Brendan Schaub’s name was brought up it was in relation to a bout with Fabricio Werdum. However, with Werdum booked to battle Roy Nelson the TUF 10 finalist was left looking for a new opponent and now it appears he’s now found one in the form of Ben Rothwell.
According to the UFC, Schaub (8-2) and Rothwell (31-8) will mix it up on March 24 in Montreal on the main card as part of a still-developing UFC 145 lineup. Both heavyweights are coming off losing performances and should be head-hunting come showtime.
Schaub Apologizes for Recent Loss
Schaub was last seen being knocked out by Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 134. Prior to the defeat “The Hybrid” had won four fights in a row including victories over Gabriel Gonzaga and Mirko Filipovic.
Meanwhile, Rothwell’s September stumble came via decision but might as well have been a knockout blow as it came to Mark Hunt, a fairly one-dimensional kickboxer seen as being past his prime. He is only 1-2 in his three UFC appearances with a win over Gilbert Yvel and additional loss to Cain Velasquez.
The only other bouts attached to UFC 145 thus far are Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills and Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs.
