It’s starting to seem like the UFC is trying to fill UFC 157 before everyone breaks for the new year. First, the organization announced two fights yesterday, and now Robbie Lawler will be returning to the UFC for the first time since UFC 50.
“Ruthless” Robbie will take on Josh Koscheck who is coming off of a loss to Johny Hendricks at UFC on FOX 5. However, Koscheck will have the advantage of fighting in his home state. Like his opponent, Lawler is also coming off of a decision loss, falling to Lorenz Larkin in July, leaving Strikeforce with a record of 3-5.
The OC Register reported:
Robbie Lawler, who has won multiple titles at middleweight, is dropping down to welterweight for his return to the UFC when he takes on former UFC welterweight title-challenger Josh Koscheck at UFC 157 on Feb. 23 at Honda Center, UFC officials announced on Wednesday night….Lawler fought at 170 pounds early in his career and went 4-3 in his first stint in the UFC from 2002-04.
