Urijah Faber Proud to Be Part of Same Show as Ronda Rousey (VIDEO)

Since the UFC announced bantamweight star Ronda Rousey would enter the organization as champion and defend her title in a headlining debut, a bit of controversy has surfaced surrounding whether or not she has the credentials to serve as main event over the likes of other stars slated for the show such as Dan Henderson and Urijah Faber. After all, Rousey only has six professional scraps to her credit and the popularity of women’s MMA hasn’t been tested on such a large platform before.

However, Faber has no problem taking a backseat to Rousey at UFC 157 considering her star-power and skill, as well as what it means for female athletics in general.

“I think it’s cool.”

“I’ve been on some historic events before and this is a real one. This is the first time the women have gotten their fair shake and I think it’s great.”

Check out the complete interview with Faber below where he also talks about his upcoming bout with Ivan Menjivar in addition to offers thoughts on the interim title-fight between Renan Barao-Michael McDonald
