KJ Noons happy with recent performance but wants to keep improving

11-4 lightweight KJ Noons is ready to shed the label of being a “one dimensional” fighter. The son of a kickboxer with a handful of pro boxing bouts to his credit, Noons may have started out a striker but is actively working on becoming a complete Mixed Martial Artist.
With that in mind Noons entered his bout against Billy Evangelista this past weekend at Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal intending to show some improved diversity and, at least according to the 29-year old striker, he was moderately successful in doing so. However, he was not satisfied.
A Detailed Look at Noons vs. Evangelista
“I got to kick, do some takedowns, wrestling…I got off some submissions” said a pleased Noons in a post-fight interview with Showtime. “I tried to showcase something different today. You know, keep the fans excited and not be so one-dimensional.”
“I’m just ready to get in there and get better,” Noons concluded.
