The next UFC on FOX card is just over a month out, and although the card has eleven fights scheduled, the UFC still hasn’t announced who would be the opening fight on the main card. As it sounds right now, Ricardo Lamas and Erik Koch will be the first fight on the network in 2013. If so, it certainly makes sense, as Ricardo Lamas is from the Chicago Area and Koch lives 90 miles away in Milwaukee.

Though not yet announced for the main card by the UFC, sources close to the promotion on Monday said the plan is for a bout between Erik Koch and Ricardo Lamas to open up the FOX portion of the broadcast. UFC on FOX 6, the UFC’s first network-televised event of 2013, takes place Jan. 26 at United Center in Chicago.
