UFC 156 just picked up a bantamweight bout between Francisco Rivera and Edwin Figueroa. The two will throw hands at the UFC’s annual Super Bowl Weekend card on February 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Figueroa is fighting for the first time in a year, but he is riding a two-fight winning streak. Rivera was coming off of a knockout win over Roland Delorme, but Rivera was popped for a banned substance (stimulant) and the result was turned to a No Contest.
MMAJunkie announced:
Edwin Figueroa will meet Francisco Rivera at UFC 156 in February. UFC officials recently announced the fight booking, saying verbal agreements are in place for the matchup. The main event is a featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar.
