Bellator has announced a deal with WinStar World Casino that will have the promotion host three events at the Oklahoma venue throughout 2013. As announced, Bellator will hold its second event at the arena, and it will feature a welterweight title-bout between Ben Askren and Karl Amoussou as well as the Bellator debut of Muhammed Lawal.
The four hundred room casino boasts of a gaming floor of over 500,000 square feet, and the casino plans to host the events in the 3,400 seat ‘Global Events Center.’ Michael McEwan, WinStar World Casino’s assistant general manager, said of the agreement “We constantly strive to expand our entertainment offerings and national exposure through strategic partnerships. We anticipate patrons will be impressed with the level of fights Bellator MMA will bring to WinStar World Casino.”
Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said of the deal, “WinStar is one of the world’s most prestigious casino resort properties, and when the chance arose to bring Bellator to the Chickasaw Nation, the decision was a very easy one.”
Rebney also added that the fans in Oklahoma are being treated to a special show next month, explaining, “With the Bellator Welterweight World Title fight and the debut of King Mo, WinStar World Casino will host a huge night of fights on January 24th.”
The first event happens on January 24 and tickets are already on sale. The event will be the second event broadcast from the promotion on Spike TV.

I wish they’d come through Texas.
