Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is set to coach the second TUF Brasil 2 against Fabricio Werdum and will eventually fight him in a rematch, but Nogueira is expecting a different type of tilt come showtime. Nogueira (34-7-1) originally beat Werdum (16-5-1) by Unanimous Decision at the PRIDE 2006 Openweight Grand Prix Quarterfinal but a lot of things have changed since then. “Minotauro” is also focused coaching this season and helping develop a future champion.
He told MMAJunkie..
“I know he changed a lot. He improved his stand up, but so did I. I think I improved my wrestling, and my boxing is way better, my striking, too. I think I can hit harder than last time I fought him. It’s going to be a great fight… He’s going to use his last loss as a motivation to come back stronger. But I kind of know the guy. I know his power. I know his game.”
On coaching TUF Brasil:
“I want to win as a coach. I want to make a champ. That’s the game, and that’s my dream. That’s what we do at Team Nogueira. It’s going to be the same over there. We’re going to work hard to win… It’s these guys’ dream to be under a UFC contract. I want to make them good fighters. I think we’re going to do it.”

Sorry guys but have you seen BigNog and Werdum lately? Norgueira has slowed down significantly while Werdum has sped up. While I think Norgueira has become much more well-rounded since their last fight, I see Werdum’s progress in striking being the deciding factor. The BJJ should cancel itself out considering that they’re both great grapplers.
Werdum – round 3, TKO.
will be fun to see it again
