Rad Martinez And Shahbulat Shamhalaev Fight Postponed, Pushed to Season 8

Minutes before the Bellator 83 main event was to take place, the athletic commission decided they wouldn’t let the lightweight tournament final fight between Rad Martinez and Shahbulat Shamhalaev take place because Shamhalaev was sick. During the event, the company stated the tilt would be moved to this week’s show, Bellator 84 though now that appears to not be the case.

Martinez, who is the primary caregiver to his disabled father, shares the responsibility of taking care of his father with his brother and will focus on that while his brother is unavailable for undisclosed reasons. As such, Bellator has announced they will reschedule the fight for early next season though a place and time have not been determined.
