UFC President Dana White announced in Memphis Thursday that Fighters.com’s fourth-ranked light heavyweight “Sugar” Rashad Evans (13-1-1) and sixth-ranked “Rampage” Quinton Jackson (28-7) will finally matchup if Evans can top tenth-ranked Thiago Silva (15-1) at UFC 108 in Las Vegas January 2, according to MMA Junkie.

The Evans versus Jackson grudge match was originally scheduled for UFC 107 this Saturday in Memphis, Jackson’s hometown, and hyped by the two serving as coaches on SpikeTV’s The Ultimate Fighter 10.  But, Jackson pulled out of the fight to star as BA Baracus in The A-Team movie and eventually announced his retirement in response to the heat put on him by White after Jackson’s withdrawal.

But, last Friday, Jackson vowed to return to the UFC “to shut Rashad’s mouth up & shut Dana’s mouth up.”

White didn’t indicate Jackson’s likely opponent if Evans loses to Silva.

What sense does this make? Rashad, is allowed to fight Jackson, if he wins against Thiago?
    Thats garbage.
I love hearing people talk about Rashad Evans, means I’ll make even more when I bet on him to knock out Jackson. Under estimate all you like, I will be here to say I told you so. Evans is a better fighter and athlete in every manner. Cha Ching.
I don’t think Silva will be a huge obstacle, but he is dangerous and has a punchers chance. Its a joke how a coward steps away from a fight for a gay movie, and the real fighter has to somehow prove himself to fight him later.
If I was Rashad I would say FUCK Jackson, he doesn’t deserve to fight me, and he’d be right.

I guess we’ll finally get to see Rampage shut “team COCKY” down. Seriously.. Rashad beating Rampage? I don’t think so, not a chance.

They’re both cocky but i like Rampage’s honesty more. Even if i were to be shown a crystal ball that Rampage would lose, I will still pick Rampage because he is a straight, honest fighter eventhough i really doubted his performance against ultimate fighter winner F. Griffin, in which i felt Jackson was made to lose in some way so that an “ultimate fighter” would hold the ufc crown. So much for Dana’s manipulative marketing style. I also had the same feeling when Rua lost to griffin in their first fight.

Rampage made his reputation out of slamming opponents in a rampage style fashion, he was really one fighter who had elevated MMA into a kind of sport that people would be interested to see. The howling, the big chain on his neck, the stare-downs so much like WWE but it’s real violence.

My prediction for their ‘upcoming fight’ if Evans wins against Thiago depends on who is going to land the big punch first right on the mark because they both have one-punch knockout power.

Even though Rashad won does not mean shit… Rampage is and always will be one of the best UFC fighters in history just like CHUCK “THE ICE MAN” LIDDEL they will always be the best and Rashad is just a lucky ass man cause he caught Rampage off gaurd and hit him in his sweet spot…. even though Rampage is retired I think they should have a rematch so the TRUE LIGHT HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION CAN PUT ON THE BELT HE DISERVES!!!!

    QUINTON “RAMPAGE” JACKSON FOREVER BABY
