Shinya Aoki vs. Antonio McKee Set for DREAM 18

Although it has a tongue twister of a name, the “GSI presents DREAM 18 and GLORY 4 Tokyo – New Year’s Eve Special” card is taking shape nicely. Those of you who remember DREAM 17, know that Shinya Aoki was supposed to fight Antonio McKee on the card, but the bout never materialized. It seems DREAM officials are taking another crack at making the match-up, as Aoki and McKee have both agreed to face off on December 31 in Japan.

Also confirmed for the card were bouts between  Bibiano Fernandes-Yoshiro Maeda, and Melvin Manhoef -Denis Kang.

MMAFightng announced:

Japan’s annual New Year’s Eve combat sports spectacular added three MMA fights to its docket of action with official confirmation from DREAM and Golden Glory officials on Friday. The trio of fights include DREAM lightweight champion Shinya Aoki against veteran Antonio McKee, ONE FC star Bibiano Fernandes vs. Yoshiro Maeda, and noted striker Melvin Manhoef battling Denis Kang.

Should be a good fight. I see Aoki tapping McKee out early though.

I’ll be sad if he doesn’t come out to Baka Survivor. One of my favorite entrance songs in MMA.
