When Chael Sonnen took the The Ultimate Fighter gig, it left open a slot for Phil Davis to step in and fight Forrest Griffin at UFC 155. As reported, Griffin was forced off the card with a torn MCL and a strained ACL. The initial thought was that the UFC would find a replacement fight for Davis, but according to UFC President Dana White the company has decided to move him another card altogether.
White told MMAWeekly:
“We’re going to move him to another card,” UFC President Dana White confirmed about Davis on Thursday.
