UFC Fight Night 33: Hunt Vs Bigfoot Live Results And Play By Play

UFC Fight Night 33: Hunt vs. Bigfoot takes place tonight at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the main event, Heavyweights Mark Hunt and and Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva will meet to see who takes a step back up the divisions ladder. In the co main event, Mauricio Shogun Rua will look to rebound from his submission loss to Chael Sonnen when he takes on James Te Huna.

Wall takes the center and opens with a low kick. Garcia lands a quick left as Wall comes forward, and Wall is already looking for the takedown. Garcia is pushing around Wall here, and Garcia lands an uppercut that knocks wall clean out.

Santos takes the center as the feeling out begins. Jotko is circling and they both exchange body kicks. Jotko seems to be having a hard time circling off the cage and finding his reach. Jotko lands a nice counter left hand after a lazy leg kick. Santos shoots for the takedown but Jotko is defending well with the help from the cage. Santos attempts a trip, but Jotko is the one who ended up on top and he moves into half guard. Santos scrambles up and Jotko walks him to the fence. Santos gets the takedown, but Jotko scrambles right back up. Santos attempts a double and lands a slick right hand as Jotko defends. Jotko is defending well, but he isn’t mounting any offense of his own. Ref resets the fighters. Jotko attempts a front kick that Santos handles, and Santos clinches.

Round 2
Santos takes the center and already Jotko looks like he is moving better. Jotko lands a slick counter to a right hand that Santos misses big with. Jotko lands a nice low kick and lands another counter to a sloppy left from Santos. Santos shoots again, but once again Jotko defends. Jotko puts Santos on the fence and lands some nice inside knees. Jotko keeps circling and ending up close to the fence, and Santos is just looking to press him on the fence when he gets close. Jotko lands a nice left hand on a counter from a right from Santos, and Santos clinches and puts Jotko on the fence again. Jotko is landing body shots to Santos, but Santos is working the legs with knees in the clinch. Jotko turns Santos around and is landing knees and body shots in the clinch. Jotko lands a left hand that drops Santos along the fence. Santos scrambles to his feet quickly, but eats more punches from Jotko.

Round 3
Santos takes the center and Jotko looks like the fresher fighter. Jotko comes forward and lands a nice 1-2 that backs up Santos. Both fighters exchange right hands and Santos doesn’t seem to be throwing combinations. Jotko lands another two piece on Santos and Santos gets the takedown and goes to work from guard. Jotko is defending well on the bottom and landing strikes from his back, but Santos moves to half guard. Jotko gives up his back in a scramble and Santos looks for the coach. Jotko spins it around to end up on top. Jotko landing some nice ground and pound with his elbows. More body, body, head work from Jotko. Santos is fishing for submissions, but he is only eating punches with 30 seconds left. Santos is fishing for a head and arm choke, but Jotko shrugs out and ends up landing more punches.

Justin Scoggins vs. Richie Vaculik
Round 1(ref: Steve Perceval)
Vaculik lands a nice right hand as Scoggins shows off some kicking skills. After a few short exchanges, Scoggins gets ahold of Vaculik’s leg and gets the takedown. Scoggins walks Vaculik over to the fence to trap him there, but Vaculik uses it to get back up. Vaculik looks to escape and Scoggins lands a right hand that drops him. Scoggins swarms and ends up in half guard, but Vaculik seems to be back in the fight and defending well. Vaculik scrambles up again, but Scoggins is staying tight and pressing him on the fence. Scoggins is landing some slick short elbows in the clinch. Scoggins changes levels and gets another takedown. Scoggins moves into full mount but Vaculik bucks to retain half guard. Scoggins takes the back Vaculik and starts pounding on Vaculik. Ref has seen enough and stops the fight. May have been a tad early on the stop.

Caio Magalhaes vs. Nick Ring

Ring takes the center and the feeling out begins. Magalhaes comes forward early with a 1-2 and misses with a head kick. Ring comes forward and they both exchange body kicks. Magalhaes lands a nice right hand as Ring throws another kick. Ref stops the action because of an eye poke. Doc gives the go ahead. Ring lands a pair of jabs but Magalhaes answers with a hook to the body and a chopping leg kick. Ring clinches and lands some solid knees but Magalhaes escapes with a knee of his own. Magalhaes shoots but Ring defends and pulls them both up. Magalhaes clinches and puts Ring on the fence. Ring gets the thai plum and is landing knee after knee to the body of Magalhaes. Magalhaes eats a few elbows on the inside and Ring gets the takedown. Ring looks to land ground and pound and Magalhaes fishes for a leg and uses it to get up. Ring lands a solid knee as Magalhaes gets up. Ring gets a takedown but Magalhaes defends and pops up. They exchange jabs as the round ends.

Ring takes the center and he eats a low kick from Magalhaes. Magalhaes throws a low kick and slips and as Ring came forward Magalhaes lands a nice right hand that stops him in his tracks. They exchange hooks and Magalhaes shoots on a telegraphed takedown. Ring defends but ends up on top in a scramble. Ring moves to side control and is framing up the arm with a crucifix. Ring starts pounding on Magalhaes, and Magalhaes uses it to sweep Ring. Magalhaes now working from guard but is only landing some ground and pound. Ring is looking for a sweep, but Magalhaes is staying tight and giving Ring fits. Magalhaes is landing some ground and pound, but Ring is landing some nice elbows from his back as well.

Round 3
Ring is coming forward and landing early and often. Ring seems to be the fresher fighter and is coming forward and doing work with his jab. Magalhaes lands a nice 1-2-3 on Ring that backs him up. Magalhaes swarms forward and ends up on top as Ring attempts a lazy shot. Ref stands them up. Right away Ring shoots again, but still can’t get it. Magalhaes is defending well and lands a nice knee to the body of Ring, They are in north south and Magalhaes is landing to the body, but the ref stands them up again. Ring desperately dives for another leg, and its rinse wash repeat as Magalhaes defends the takedown. Magalhaes still pounding on the body of Ring as the round ends.

Round 1(ref:)
Phan takes the center and is coming forward throwing jabs. Mizugaki is taking punches but he lands 2 for everyone Phan lands. Mizugaki comes forward and lands a nice 3 piece on Phan. Mizugaki gets the takedown. Phan scrambles up but eats a series of right hands from Mizugaki. Mizugaki seems to be picking apart Phan at this point. Mizugaki lands a nice left hook and again gets the takedown on Phan. Phan is trying to get up but again eats more right hands as he does so. Phan lands a nice jab but Mizugaki returns fire with his right hand. Mizugaki is landing some heavy body shots with a hook behind them. Phan doesn’t know how to deal with him, and even when he has time to set up he misses and eats a punch. Big left to the body of Phan to end the round.

Round 2
Phan takes the center and quickly eats a jab from Mizugaki. Mizugaki lands a 2 piece combination and ducks for a takedown and stands up and lands a 3 piece. Mizugaki catches Phan with a left hook and is teeing off on him along the fence. Was at least 10 unanswered punches. Phan some how survives the onslaught. Mizugaki goes back to picking apart Phan and this fight is all one way traffic. Phan lands a nice right hand, but more Mizugaki with his left hook. Phan gets a hold of Mizugaki’s arm in the clinch and is trying to lock it up, but Mizugaki escapes and puts Phan on his back. Phan pops right back up. Phan lands a pair of jabs but Mizugaki answers with another jab and a hook. Phan lands a left hook that backs up Mizugaki, his biggest punch of the fight.

Round 3
Mizugaki opens with a 1-2 and Phan is looking to set up his jab and left hand. Mizugaki lands a nice uppercut but Phan returns fire. Phan defends a takedown and tries to lace up a kimura, but Mizugaki escapes. Phan lands a left hand and Mizugaki looks a little wobbled. Both in the pocket and they are throwing. Phan is landing more and more and goes with a hook to the liver. Mizugaki lands a big left hand that backs up Phan and is coming forward still throwing. Phan looks to be the fresher of the two fighters, but Mizugaki is still landing heavy shots. Mizugaki lands a nice 3 piece combination and Phan answers with a heavy jab. Phan’s corner is screaming that they have to finish Mizugaki. They both land hooks to the body and straight rights. Mizugaki lands a big left hand that almost drops him, and Mizugaki lands another jab right behind it.

Kedzie circling early ass Correia takes the center. Kedzie lands a nice body kick, but Correia fires back with a hook that just misses. Correia lands a nice hook after eating a front kick. Correia lands a nice double jab and then a pair of low kicks. Correia lands a nice left hook, and then another one as Kedzie comes forward. Kedzie misses with a left kick and a spinning back fist. Correia closes the distance and puts Kedzie on the fence and lands a nice knee. Kedzie reverses her way out. Correia is landing her left hook at will now. Correia clinches and puts Kedzie on the fence and is landing knees and looking for a trip. Correia misses and slips with a kick. Kedzie tries to capitalize but Correia gets free. Correia gets a takedown as the round ends.

Kedzie opens with a low kick and Correia answers with a another left hook. Correia blocks a hook and lands another big left hand. Kedzie catches a low kick from Correia and scores a left hand on her grill. Correia still coming forward. Correia lands a nice straight right. Kedzie lands a nice front kick but Correia closes the distance and clinches Kedzie with her back on the fence. Correia lands some nice knees on the inside. Correia lands another right hand and presses Kedzie on the fence. Correia scoring with some knees on the inside. Kedzie misses with a right hand on the break. Both fighters exchangeleg kicks. Correia shoots but Kedzie defends. Correia landing some foot stomps along the fence.

Correia takes the center and opens with a big right hand. Kedzie lands a nice right hand as Correia lands a low kick. Correia comes forward and lands two two punch combos. Kedzie misses with two terrible looking kicks. Correia lands a nice overhand right. Correia lands a three piece that included a leg kick and again Kedzie is just firing back with one. Correia catches a kick and takes down Kedzie. Correia tries to take her back but Kedzie scrambles up. Kedzie lands a 1-2 but Correia is coming forward like the terminator. Correia lands a slick 1-2-3 and Kedzie fires back with a low kick.

Dylan Andrews vs. Clint Hester

Andrews comes forward and right away lands a big right hand. Hester lands one of his own but these guys are throwing. Hester lands a right hand and just misses with a big knee. Andrews lands a slick right hand and grabs ahold of Hester and pulls him down. Hester doing a good job of defending any damage. Andrews is trying to pass to side control but so far Hester is making it hard. Hester tries to get up and Andrews pulls guard with a guillotine. Hester now on top and he lands a solid elbow. Andrews scrambles up and gets the trip on Hester, but Hester springs right back up and lands a few punches. Andrews gets the takedown again and moves into side mount.

Round 2
Hester circling early and Andrews takes the center. Hester lands a nice inside leg kick with a jab behind. Andrews shoots for a takedown, but Hester defends this one. Andrews really working the outside leg kicks in this round. Hester lands a nice right hand and Andrews returns fire. Hester runs right over Andrews and gets the takedown. Hester lands a nice elbow and a few forearm strikes. Hester postures up and lands a nice right hand. Hester with more elbows from half guard and Andrews is just hanging on for a standup. Andrews scrambles up and Hester lands two huge uppercuts. Andrews now wearing the fight on his face. Andrews is either hurt or exhausted, and he is shaking out his right hand. Hester lands a left hand and the round ends.

Palelei takes the center and shoots on Barry. Barry defends and circles away. Barry misses with a pair of kicks. Barry throws a knee and Palelei takes him down. Barry laces up a kimura but Palelei defends it. Palelei moves to mount and pounds out Barry. Wow!

Ryan Bader vs. Anthony Perosh

Perosh circles early and Bader takes the center. Perosh lands a nice right hand, but its Bader coming forward. Bader laces up a clinch and lands a pair of right hands and Perosh goes down. Bader lands some ground and pound but Perosh scrambles up. Bader lands a big uppercut and Perosh looks out of it. Perosh lands a nice 1-2, and then a big left hand. Perosh comes forward but Bader lands a slick left hand. Perosh dives for a leg but Bader pushes him aside and climbs on top to land more ground and pound. Bader landing big elbows and punches. Bader climbs on his back as he gets up, but Bader is staying tight landing punches. Perosh gets some space but Bader is walking him down. Big jab from Bader and Perosh comes forward with a left hand. Bader defends and ties up Perosh along the fence. Bader gets the takedown and lands a big elbow that opens up Perosh’s forehead. More elbows from Bader is how the round ends.

Round 2
Bader takes the center and lands a one two. Perosh lands a nice jab and a low kick. Bader clinches and gets the takedown along the fence. Bader passes into side mount and is now trying to take Perosh’s back. Another big elbow from Bader. All one way traffic on the floor as Bader marks up Perosh. Big left hand from guard from Bader. Bader lands more left hands and Perosh is now just surviving and flopping around like a fish. Bader i just tenderizing Perosh’s body at this point, and we are in the final minute of the round. Bader lands a handful of elbows as the round winds out.

Bader takes the center and Perosh comes forward with a lefthand. Bader defends and lands a left of his own. Perosh comes in trying to get the takedown, but Bader reverses it and ends up on top with a one way ticket on the pain train. Bader staying tight landing punch after punch. Perosh scrambles to his feet and Bader puts him right back on down. Bader comes close to pounding out Perosh, but it looks like Bader is going to survive. Bader ends the round beating Perosh like a drum.

Te Huna takes the center and Rua opens with a low kick. Rua lands a nice combination right out of the gate. Rua circling and he sprawls to escape a takedown from Te Huna. Rua lands a short left hand on the inside and Te Huna falls over like a bag of hammers. Rua lands one more before the ref saves Te Huna. What a knockout.

Hunt takes the center and the feeling out process begins. Silva opens up with leg kick, and is switching stances. Silva lands a heavy low kick and Hunt paws his jab out in front. Hunt comes in and misses big with a left hand and Silva ducks out of the way. Silva really working the kicks in this fight. Hunt presses forward with a 1-2 that misses. Silva lands a right hand that drops Hunt, but Hunt manages to get up while eating right hands from Silva. Hunt throws another 1-2 that Silva handles ands lands a low kick behind it. Silva lands a front kick and then a right hand behind it. Hunt comes forward swinging, but Silva has his hands high. Silva clinches but Hunt spins it around. Hunt landing some body shots, but not alot of mustard on them. Silva lands a nice body kick.

Round 2
Hunt comes forward pawing his jab and Silva lands a pair of kicks. Hunt presses forward and lands a 1-2. Hunt comes forward again but this time Silva counters with a left that stumbles him. Silva with a heavy low kick and then a front kick. Silva comes forward and lands a right hand and goes for a takedown, but Hunt defends well. Hunt lands a slick left hand to the body. Silva misses with a kick and both throw right hands that miss. Hunt lands his cleanest shot of the fight with a right hand. Slow pace to this fight, but Hunt is now coming forward. Hunt lands a sneaky left hook in the middle of combination. Hunt lands a nice kick to the body of Silva. Silva returns fire with a front kick of his own. Silva lands a leg kick and now Hunt is limping around the octagon.

Round 3
Hunt takes the center and Silva is already looking toland more leg kicks. Hunt lands a 1-2 that Silva blocks. Hunt comes forward and briefly gets a takedown, but Silva pops right back up. Silva clinches on the fence and tries to get the trip takedown. Hunt survives the trip and is now leaning on Silva on the fence. Silva lands a kick on the exit. Hunt lands a right hand and Silva lands a nice 1-2 on the inside. Silva swarms forward. Hunt lands a right a straight right that drops Silva. Silva is defending well off his back, but Hunt is landing some nice elbows from ½ guard. Hunt landing more punches on the ground and he has Silva pressed up on the fence. Hunt pounding away with hammerfists but he won’t finish Silva in the round.

Round 4
Hunt misses big with a left hand and they are in the center trading punches. Hunt clinches and puts Silva’s back on the fence. Silva lands a big right hand behind a leg kick. Hunt dives for a leg that Silva defends, but Hunt tries again and Silva is on his back again. Hunt lands some ground and pound, but Silva scrambles up. Silva lands a big low kick and and Hunt lands a pair of big elbows. Both are in the center and exchanging. Both seemed to have hurt each other, but they are both throwing. Hunt goes for the takedown and Silva ends up on top. Silva moves to mount and is beating Hunt like a drum. Hunt is busted open and Silva is landng viscous shots. Hunt will survive the round, but his face is a mess.

Hunt comes out with a 1-2 and then Silva also lands. Hunt comes forward and misses with a pair, but Silva eats and elbow. Silva tries for the takedown but Hunt defends. Hunt lands an elbow that busts open Silva’s head. Hunt lands two or three big left hands and Silva shoots again. Hunt lands 2 big left hands and Silva is wobbled. Hunt is measuring him up and landing at will. Ref breaks the fight and checks the cut, but we are back at it. Silva lands a right hand but Hunt answers with a left hand of his own. Silva comes forward and puts Hunt on the fence. Silva lands a handful of unanswered punches but Hunt is answering back now. Hunt comes forward landing more left hands but Silva is eating them. Round ends on the fence in the clinch. What a fight.
