Gabe Ruediger Retiring After Next Fight

Gabe Ruediger is hanging up his gloves after his next fight scheduled for February 21st for Tachi Palace Fighting. Ruediger posted a statement on his website talking about how his share of injuries have helped him decide to step away from fighting. He does say he plans on doing something with the sport in the future. Ruediger had two stints with the UFC, but never picked up a win in the octagon.

From Ruediger’s web site:

I will be fighting February 21st at the Tachi Palace to defend my lightweight belt. There is one huge difference to this fight that sets it apart from any other. It is my last one. I’ve decided to retire after this bout. I’ve spent over 11 years fighting MMA professionally and its time to close that chapter of my life… My first fight was in the WEC at the Tachi Palace and now my last fight will be at the Tachi Palace. Hopefully those that care will be there to watch me enter the cage one more time, for the last time.
