Earlier this week, UFC heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos labeled Alistair Overeem as a cheat whose earlier accomplishments in the cage are tainted based on his supposed use of performance enhancing drugs. Though Overeem is currently unable to get licensed to fight based on a failed drug test brought on by testosterone use, prior to the situation he had never tested positive for anything unsavory before. However, his name has often come up in connection with steroids based on his muscular physique and rise from the 205 pound ranks to become one of the heavyweight division’s elite.
Now, fellow heavyweight Fabricio Werdum is also accusing Overeem of using PEDs prior to getting popped earlier this year, making it clear “The Demolition Man” is far from popular amongst his peers…
“In 2006 when I fight with him, for sure he was on the juice again, the special juice. All the time he was on the special juice.”
“I know in Japan it isn’t like in the USA, where you have a lot of control. I like that, but in 2006 Japan and PRIDE had control but not like 100 percent. These guys have the tests, but not for the drugs.”
