This weekend marks the first time defending UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson is fighting someone NOT named Frankie Edgar this year. The two spent months preparing for one another and 50 minutes in the Octagon together on two different continents. The two lived, ate, and breathed one another for countless hours, so it’s safe to say Edgar has a unique look at the UFC On FOX 5 main event between Henderson and challenger Nate Diaz.
Edgar told MMAinterviews:
“I think Nate’s going to be a problem for him. I really do. I think Ben is obviously a great fighter. I think it’s going to be a high paced fight, but Nate’s length, his boxing is pretty tough. He is always going to fight like he always fights, he’s going to go forward, throw a lot of punches. For Ben, I don’t know maybe he’s got to get takedowns if he can, but he’s got to be weary about those submissions.”
