“Cyborg” Santos Says She is Negotiating With UFC, Can Make Bantamweight

Since the signing of Ronda Rousey to the UFC, the rumor her first opponent will be Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos in Octagon has been constant. When the UFC’s Brazilian website hinted it was going to happen, the rumor picked up a whole new head of steam. Turns out, its all still a rumor.

According to Santos, she could fight Rousey for her bantamweight title if given enough time. The statement is a 180 degree turn from just a few weeks ago when “Cyborg” said her doctor warned cutting that much weight could be dangerous and as such she was moving was on from the possibility of fighting Rousey.

Cyborg told MMAJunkie:

“That is wrong information…In one month, I can’t do it, but if I have time, I could do it,” said Santos, who added that her management is currently negotiating with the UFC.”
