Injured Attila Vegh Out of Bellator 84 Championship Fight

Christian M’Pumbu was two weeks out from his first title title-defense since winning the Bellator light heavyweight belt but will now have to wait a little longer, as it appears opponent Attila Vegh has pulled out of their Bellator 84 fight set to go down on December 14. With the injury happening so close to the bout, it is unlikely that a replacement will be found in time.

There is no indication as to what the injury was to Vegh, but assuming he is healthyenough the bout will be rescheduled for Season 8 on Spike TV. With the Felice Herrig/Michelle Gutierrez fight off of the card as well, it is unclear what bouts will fill up the main card.

MMAJunkie Reported:

Bellator’s 205-pound champion was set to defend his belt for the first time later this month at Bellator 84. But an injury to opponent Attila Vegh will force him out of the fight and off the card, and M’Pumbu will be off the card along with him.
