UFC 154 Does Estimated 680K Pay Per View Buys

“The pay per view king is back, said UFC President Dana White when he was asked about the PPV buy totals for UFC 154 In Montreal. The event featured Canadian superstar Georges St-Pierre, who was returning to the octagon after being injured more than 18 months, defending his welterweight title against Carlos Condit. White wouldn’t comment on the  totals of the event, but industry insiders are saying GSP might have been unseated as King this year when Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen did 925,000 total buys in their rematch. Using metrics, analysts believe UFC 154 did 680-700,000 buys.

MMAFighting reports:

UFC 154, which featured the return of the company’s top pay-per-view drawing card,Georges St. Pierre, did a number estimated at 680,000 to 700,000 buys, based on different sources…The company’s biggest event of 2012 is believed to have been UFC 148, headlined by Anderson Silva’s middleweight title defense over Chael Sonnen, that did an estimate of 925,000 buys, the company’s best showing since 2010.
