Just 48 hours after the news broke that middleweight champion Luck Rockhold was out of his fight with a wrist injury, Strikeforce has announce that Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza will face Lorenz Larkin on the main card. The promotion has also changed the name of the event from Strkeforce: Champions to Strikeforce: Marquardt vs Saffiedine. The event is schedule for January 12 in Oklahoma City, and reportedly could be the final Strikeforce show.
Also added to the card is a middleweight fight between Tim Kennedy (14-4) and Trevor Smith (10-2). Kennedy is returning after losing to Luke Rockhold by decision in July, and Smith is looking to add to a first round submission win he picked up outside of Strikeforce to Alexandere Moreno.
