Michael Bisping: “The longer the fight goes, Vitor will turn into a walking punching bag.”

Michael Bisping is in full campaign mode now that he has started his training camp for his UFC on FX 7 fight with Vitor Belfort.  As mentioned last week, Bisping (23-4) has been focused on statements from Anderson Silva whose interests are currently outside of the division, and, if that’s the case, “The Count” wants an interim title to be awarded to the winner of his fight with Belfort (21-10).

In a recent interview, Bisping broke down his opponent, talking about how the fight could play out and why he thinks gold should be up for grabs in their bout…

Bisping told MMAFighting:

“It’s well documented, rightly or wrongly, that Vitor gasses quickly. He does slow down after the first round. Obviously, early for me is going to be the most dangerous. The longer the fight goes, he’ll start turning into a walking punching bag. At least that’s the plan. It’s easier said than done.

The Interim title and Anderson Silva:

“It’s not there if Anderson isn’t defending the title. I’m not knocking him. He’s the greatest fighter we have. But a champion needs to defend the title or he needs to vacate it. And when he comes back to middleweight, he should get an automatic shot. Or they should create an interim title.
