On the UFC On FOX 5 media call on Tuesday, UFC President Dana White mentioned to the fighters that they should tone down the training so no one got hurt before the card. White was joking around about the UFC’s horrible luck in 2012 with injuries. He apparently spoke too soon, as one of the card’s chief players has withdrawn for health-related reasons.
“Lavar Johnson is out of the FOX prelims with a pulled groin. He was fighting Brendan Schaub,” White Tweeted.
While Johnson hasn’t commented on the injury at the time of the article, Schaub also took to Twitter.
“Frustrated would be an understatement..back to the gym,” the heavyweight Tweeted.
It is unclear if he will get an opponent in time as the card is set to take place a week from Saturday on December 8.
