UFC lightweight Anthony Pettis (15-2) tends to keep his emotions in check and focus on the task at hand. However, his next bout will feature some bad blood, as his January 26 tilt against Donald Cerrone (19-4) at UFC on FOX 6 has become personal rather than strictly professional as the result of some crass comments on the part of “Cowboy” and his camp.
Pettis recently addressed the issue, letting MMA fans know he was coming to finish Cerrone for calling him out while shelved for a shoulder injury.
“He waited till I was hurt to call me out. When I was healthy, before I got the surgery, no one wanted to fight me.”
“I respect his skills but as a person I don’t respect him at all. The way he went about the fight…I mean, if you want to fight, tell me when to fight, but you don’t got to talk sh*t about it.”
