UFC light heavyweight Stanislav Nedkov suffered the first loss of his career earlier this month when Thiago Silva submitted him in the third round of their UFC on Fuel 6 fight. However, the defeat has since been overturned as the result of Silva testing positive for marijuana use, returning Nedkov’s record back to unbeaten status.
Nedkov recently revealed he was far from shocked that Silva used a banned substance prior to their pairing and had no problem with pot being labeled as a performance enhancing drug.
“I had serious doubts whether Thiago would be clean. I was anxious for the results of the drug test.”
“I consulted some specialists they told me that marijuana increases the adrenaline in the body, and also expands the lungs and increases the flow of oxygen muscles, which helps in the resistance. This, in addition to hiding the use of anabolic steroids, which have greater punishment than marijuana.”
