“Axe Murderer” Wanderlei Silva (33-10-1) and The Ultimate Fighter 3 champion “Count” Michael Bisping (17-2) will matchup at middleweight at UFC 110 in Sydney February 21, according to a Fighters Only report.
Silva had been matched versus Bisping for UFC 105 in Manchester November 14, but had to pull out of the fight because of surgery to remove scar tissue from his face. Silva was then rumored to be matched versus Fighters.com’s tenth-ranked middleweight “Sexyama” Yoshihiro Akiyama (14-2) at UFC 110.
But, according to Fighters Only, that matchup has been scrapped in favor of the original Silva versus Bisping fight.
Silva lost a unanimous decision to “Ace” Rich Franklin (26-5) at UFC 99 in Cologne June 13.
Bisping TKO’d Canadian middleweight Denis Kang (34-11-1) by punches at UFC 105.
