Some fighters feel that they have earned a title shot, and if it means waiting forever they will wait. For some fighters that method works, but many also feel the best way to stay in fight shape is to keep fighting. UFC interim bantamweight champ Renan Barao obviously wants his shot at Dominick Cruz to unify the titles, but his esteemed head coach Andre Pederneiras doesn’t want to wait too long. If he had to choose a fight for his champion, Pederneiras said he would like to see him fight Michael McDonald.
Pederneiras told mmajunkie:
If I had a choice, I would rather Renan fight Dominick Cruz, but I don’t want to wait too long. I think McDonald’s game is a good game for Renan.
Nothing is signed yet, but in the meantime Barao is enjoying being recognized in Brazil.
Every time he goes into the street, people shake his hand. He loves that.
