Breaking News: Fitch Gets His Job Back at the UFC
By: Selina "Dead" Wong Posted On: November 20, 2008 at 8:03pmFighters.com was live at pro training at American Kickboxing Academy Thursday afternoon in San Jose and learned that fifth-ranked welterweight Jon Fitch (17-3) has resolved his dispute with the UFC and will return to the promotion.
Fitch decided to sign a licensing contract for a UFC video game and will be back in the Octagon to face Akihiro Gono (30-13-7) at UFC 94 in Las Vegas 31 January.
Fitch was dropped from the UFC Wednesday for refusing to sign an agreement giving the promotion lifetime rights over his name and likeness for a planned video game.
Fitch has not spoken to UFC President Dana White and instead talked to co-owner of the organization Lorenzo Fertitta.
“Congrats,” Fitch’s teammate told him. “You have your job back.”

Hey, is there any truth to the rumors that Lorenzo stepped in and took over this situation? I have heard that Lorenzo is very angry at Dana White over this entire thing. Is this true?
White has no litigation skills at all! He is the face of UFC and that should be what he is relegated to. Personally, I like his attitude and “straight-forwardness”, it just doesn’t work in the business world. His attitude is more apt to work as a high school football or wrestling coach.
It may sound cool, but do you really want someone who can go off the handle like that at the helm of an organisation? Not very businesslike at all.
