It looks like former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski will squeeze in one more scrap before the end of the year, heading to Russia to face Bellator veteran Mike Hayes on December 16 under the Fight Nights banner. The match-up is expected to serve as the card’s main event.
Arlovski confirmed news of the clash on his Twitter account.
The 18-9 Arlovski has won three of his last four fights with the lone exception involving a No Contest after “The Pitbull” dropped Tim Sylvia in an August outing and then finished him with an illegal soccer kick. The 33-year old Belarusian was last seen stopping Devin Cole with strikes earlier this month at WSOF 1, adding to past victories over the likes of Sylvia, Fabricio Werdum, Ben Rothwell, and Roy Nelson.
Hayes had a six-fight winning streak snapped in June and hasn’t fought since. He holds an overall record of 18-5-1 including thirteen finishes to his credit.
