Fighters.com’s second-ranked heavyweight and UFC champion Brock Lesnar (4-1) collapsed in Canada while recovering from mononucleosis and “he’s not going to be getting well anytime soon,” according to UFC President Dana White at the post-UFC 105 press conference in Manchester Saturday.
White told reporters that Lesnar took a vacation to Canada while trying to recover from what doctors thought was a case of mononucleosis. While in Canada, White said Lesnar “had some bad stuff happen to him.” Lesnar reportedly collapsed while in Canada and was subsequently hospitalized.
White said, “He’s in a hospital up in North Dakota somewhere right now. He doesn’t want to talk about it publicly, but he’s in bad shape. He’s not well and he’s not going to be getting well anytime soon.”
White said that Lesnar is suffering from “very serious” ailments, however he denied that Lesnar was suffering from cancer or AIDS. He added that the UFC will do everything it can to get Lesnar the best treatment possible.
