Keith Kizer, Executive Director of the Nevada Athletic Commission, announced that The Ultimate Fighter 16 coaches Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson would be subject to random drug testing for their fight. The pair are scheduled to face off at the TUF 16 Finale that is scheduled for December 15, but they have already gone through a round of testing.
Fighters.com received an email from Kizer explaining the first tests. Kizer said “Both were tested for steroids and diuretics in mid-October and passed.” Both Carwin and Nelson expect more tests besides the post fight drug screen. Nevada is one of a few commissions who do random drug testing and they do so on a selective basis.
