Strikeforce Results: Fedor Emelianenko Knocks out Brett Rogers
By: Chad Edward Posted On: November 8, 2009 at 12:06amFighters.com Heavyweight Champion “Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko (31-1) knocked out and fifth-ranked heavyweight “Grim” Brett Rogers (10-0) at 1:48 of the second round at Strikeforce in Chicago Saturday night.
Emelianenko clocked Rogers with an overhand right inside a Rogers left hook, flattening the 265-pound heavyweight and finishing him with hammerfists on the mat.
Emelianenko had dominated round one, despite suffering a deep cut on the bridge of his nose apparently from a Rogers straight. Emelianenko nearly secured a Kimura lock from his back in that round before Rogers rolled free and had his most dominant stint of G’n'P.
