UFC heavyweight “Cro Cop” Mirko Filipovic‘s (23-6-2) retirement appears to be on hold again. The Croatian MMA legend is close to signing to fight “Big” Ben Rothwell (29-5) at UFC 110 in Sydney February 20, according to a report at Five Ounces of Pain.
Thirty-five-year old Filipovic recently embarassingly verbally submitted to Fighters.com’s seventh-ranked heavyweight ”Cigano” Junior dos Santos (9-1) at UFC 103 in Dallas September 19. In the aftermath, the visibly defeated Filipovic stated to media sources that he was ready for retirement.
On the other side of the potential UFC 110 matchup stands Ben Rothwell. A former champion of the now-defunct International Fight League, Rothwell is also coming off a TKO loss in his UFC debut against Cain Velasquez (7-0) at UFC 104 in Los Angeles October 24.
