Strikeforce: Fedor Emelianenko, Brett Rogers Make Weight Before CBS Showdown

Fighters.com Heavyweight Champion “Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko (30-1) and fifth-ranked heavyweight “Grim” Brett Rogers (10-0) both made weight Friday before their matchup at Strikeforce at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates northwest of Chicago November 7.

Emelianenko weighed-in at 232 pounds.  Rogers closed in on the 265-pound heavyweight limit at  264 pounds.

Also on the CBS broadcast portion of the card, second-ranked middleweight Jake Shields (23-4-1) and his challenger “Mayhem” Jason Miller (22-5) for the vacant Strikeforce title also made weight.

Shields weighed 184.5 pounds.  “Mayhem” weighed 184 pounds.

Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi (22-2-1) met the division limit at 205 pounds.  His non-title challenging opponent “African Assassin” Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou (6-4) weighed 204.

Ninth-ranked heavyweight “Vai Cavalo” Fabricio Werdum (11-4-1) weighed 242 pounds.  His opponent, former EliteXC heavyweight champ “Junior” Antonio Silva (13-1), also just made the division limit at 263 pounds.

Doors at the Sears Centre will open at 8:00 PM local time.  Tickets will go on sale Friday to subscribers of Strikeforce’s newsletter and to the general public on Monday, September 28.  Purchase tickets at Ticketmaster or by calling (800) 745-3000.  The four-fight televised card will broadcast in the United States on CBS at 9:00 PM ET Saturday, November 7.
