Bantamweights Brad Pickett and Renan Barao did more to entertain in approximately four minutes than any other pair of pugilists on the UFC 138 card, wowing fans from start to finish with a series of stiff strikes and general fearlessness on their feet.
Though Pickett eventually fell, then found himself locked up in a Rear-Naked Choke, the Brit still took home $70,000 along with a role in the evening’s “Fight of the Night”. The win improved Barao’s record to 27-1 with his only defeat coming via Split Decision in his professional debut.
A pair of Englanders won “Submission of the Night” and “Knockout of the Night”, further making the crowd proud, with Che Mills demolishing Chris Cope courtesy of some well-placed knees and Terry Etim tapping out Eddie Faaloloto to open up the PPV portion of the show. Both men won $70,000 for their efforts.
